Naumann Journey

John and Marcy grew up in Pennsylvania/New Jersey surrounded by farms and Amish communities. They met at Messiah College in Pennsylvania and, after getting married, moved to Texas for an engineering job for John. After living in the suburbs of Houston for 20 years and enduring several floods that damaged their home, they sought higher ground, finding the Pineywoods of East Texas reminiscent of the forests of the northeast. They began their farming journey in 2016 when they purchased a little house on 25 acres surrounded by national forest. In order to get an agricultural exemption, they decided on raising cows, but, not wanting to do beef cows as most others in the area, they decided on dairy cows. In 2017, Cream, a 10-year old light fawn/gray colored Jersey, came to live on the Double N Farm – and thus began our amazing journey into the dairy world and beyond!
